WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF MEN'S TELEHEALTH, PERFORMANCE & LONGEVITY

As 21st-century guys, we strive to “be the man” in all aspects of our lives–career, family, andfitness. But when it comes to testosterone levels, many men find themselves falling short of the mark. We hit the gym week after week with hopes of risingup a notch on the proverbial alpha maletotem pole but oftentimes end up feeling disheartened by a general lack of results.

This can be attributed to a phenomenon known as "testosterone deficiency," and today, I'mgoing to discuss why this is happening more so than ever before in modern society and what you can do about it! But first, let’s cover some basics. What Is Testosterone?

Testosterone is a key hormone in humans that is responsible for the development of male characteristics. Its production and regulation occur in the testes of males and act on many different systemswithin the human body to promote physical growth, sexual development, and even improvecognitive abilities. It also helps control metabolism, increases libido, and influences overall mood.

Although testosterone often has an association with aggression, it is only one element of complex interactions between hormones and behaviors that can be influenced both positivelyand negatively. Understanding what testosterone is, how it works, and its effects are critical to ensureindividuals take steps towards establishing a healthy balance of hormones within their bodies. Why Is It Important? Testosterone is a crucial hormone for males, particularly during adolescence, when physicalchanges such as muscle mass, bone density, and facial hair start to appear.

But its role goes beyond simple physical development. Testosterone impacts the body in many ways, including influencing red blood cell production, increasing libido, and even impacting mood and mental acuity. Ultimately, testosterone is important in males because it plays a vital role in overall health andwell-being at any age-even after adolescence.

Therefore, it is important to maintain healthy levels throughout life.

The T-Pandemic

It is a worrying trend that, in the 21st century, testosterone levels in men are lower than everbefore.Such decreased levels could be due to a myriad of factors, from increased stress to increasedconsumption of processed food and refined sugar. In addition, environmental sources such as plastic and heavy metals have been theorized toexert an influence on male sex hormones.

The end result of this ever-dwindling testosterone level has many implications.Men today exhibit higher levels of anxiety, fatigue, and general lethargy compared to theirpredecessors. Besides, one of the worst side effects of low T is a decrease in sex drive or even a completeloss of interest in intercourse. With this in mind, it is fair to say that every self-respecting male should do their best to maintainoptimal hormonal function.

What Can You Do About It?

Do any of those symptoms sound familiar? Do you feel like your testosterone levels are lowerthan you'd hoped? Don't worry-there's still plenty ofhope for the modern man! With just a few simple tweaks, you can put yourself back on track to feeling like an alpha male again. Let's have a look at the most important factors.

Sleep

Sleep is an essential part of good health and can have a significantimpact on the properregulation of hormone production. One hormone that is particularly affected by sleep deprivation is testosterone. During quality sleep, the body produces most of its testosterone, which has been found toinfluence energy levels and muscle strength positively.

Studies have highlighted the importance of getting healthy amounts of sleep each night–7 to 9hours–so that the body can naturally maintain healthy levels of testosterone, as well as itsentire structure and health. This is why it is fair to say that sleep is a vital tool for promoting general wellness and should betaken seriously!

Weight-training

Weight training is an effective and efficient way to optimize natural testosterone production. Regular lifting stimulates the production of hormones responsible for muscle growth, including testosterone. Weight-bearing exercises, such as squats, deadlifts, presses, and bent-over rows, areespecially beneficial as they recruit several muscle groups at one time. With regular weight training, natural testosterone production will rise accordingly, resulting in ahealthier you. So what are you waiting for? Get under the bar!

Nutrition

With the right nutrition, optimal testosterone production in the body can be achieved. Eating nutrient-rich foods and minimizing those with low nutritional value-such as processedfoods and added sugar-are essential in ensuring proper testosterone levels. Nutrients such as essential fatty acids, zinc, and selenium have also been linked to maintaining healthy testosterone production, so these should be incorporated into one’s diet.

Much like everything else regarding fitness and health, nutrition is, again, a crucial factor for testosterone levels.

Lose the GUT

We see it on TV everyday. "Manly" men pounding beers, eating endless chips while showing off their "keg" belly's at the same time. To each their own in how they choose to ive their life but don't tell me any of this is healthy for longevity. In fact, physiologically speaking...these products and that extra belly fat make you more of women than anything remotely resemebling a man.

Carrying excess body fat and in the case of men, excess viceral (or fat around your organs), increases your risk for cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance, inflammation, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and in the spirit of this article, LOW T. Though your "friends" might admire your "zest for life," having a gut as a man turns your body into an estrogen pumping, testosterone destroying factory. Making you anything but a man, physiologically speaking that is of course.

It's a hard truth but a truth more men need to hear. Not because I'm heare to "fat sham" anyone but rather a physician who remembers his hippocratic oath...to do no harm. Listen guys, stop telling and lying to yourself that your best years are behind you! It's BS and you know it.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, it is clear that the decline of testosterone in men is a significant concern thatneeds to be addressed.

There are many potential causes and treatments available, but further research is required tounderstand the full impact of this issue. Much like most other problems, though, there is no one-shot pill to fix this-the change lieswithin your habits.
